Pavement Live – Reunion Auckland March 1st
here’s the first crack at the reunion tour for indie gods, Pavement from their first stop off in New Zealand. Next the band is embarking on a six-date trek through Australia that includes a headlining slot at the Golden Plains Festival.

Here’s a cover of the song from Casey Dienel who included this song in her recent daytrotter session. Casey “Malkmus is probably my favorite lyricist, and normally I am too afraid to do covers – when I played classically, sometimes I would actually puke before recitals or juries, because the thought of screwing up someone else’s music would make me so nervous. I would think about Chopin wretching in his grave. I am reluctant to do covers, but I love his sense of humor so much that I decided to suck it up. My favorite thing about Pavement has always been that the humor never comes at the cost of the songs – the melodies are always strong and thoughtful and the delivery never gets in “wink-wink” territory.”
