Titus Andronicus Debut “A More Perfect Union”

The image which on the c over of the new album is a photograph taken in 1862 of the crew of the USS Monitor, which was an ironclad battleship employed by the Union Navy during the American Civil War. The lettering of the album’s title is actually taken from a letter written by Abraham Lincoln.
The reason for the release of this album on March 9th ?? March 9th, 1862, was the day on which the Monitor and the Virginia did battle off the coast of Hampton Roads, Virginia, and laid waste to how we thought about naval warfare (though not to each other). The band’s patriotism runs deep hey? The releasing of the record is their way of celebrating the 148th anniversary of this historic event.
Titus Andronicus’s “A More Perfect Union” is the lead song from their forthcoming sophomore album, The Monitor
