Tame Impala “Innerspeaker”
The Perth Australian psychedlic jazz infused rock band, Tame Impala, have recorded their debut album, “Innerspeaker” which is expected to be released this summer. The band just posted a promo video(below) on the album. We were fortunate to have been at their Big Day Out Festival set where they previewed some of the new album. The songs were a real throwback to some nice 60′s rock and roll psychedelia. They happened to hit the stage at one of the hottest hours of the day. It was so hot the security staffing were busy passing out water during the set . seriously the sun was blistering and the crowd scene was insane… However, as dazed and confused from the conditions, we were into it.. it was the perfect Rx for the heat, you literally melted into the layers of wailing guitar and stepped up drumming.
It was a great start to the rest of the Festival, with Decoder Ring and Midnight Juggernauts just on the next stage over in the shaded coolness of Boiler room stage which made for a nice relief. *more on these bands later this month.
